I am willful when it comes to accomplishing my goals! My head supplies the willpower and usually wins, up until now! But lately I’m not achieving my fitness goals, and I’ve been asking myself what happened to my willpower! This book is teaching me to end the division between my body and mind. Instead of forcing with willpower I’m learning to invite the intelligence of my mind to deepen into harmony with my body.
Deep Fitness is about strength training, but whether you’re into strength training or not, I recommend reading this book for its insights on fitness and practicing presence. The authors make the point that presence begins in the body, not in the head. Think about when you’re angry, or frustrated, or defensive, people will usually tell you to take a breath. Breath is in the body and breathing brings you present. Full confession I’m doing the strength training and loving it! And I’m learning to be present with every breath. May you relax and be receptive today to your body’s wisdom. Comments are closed.
