Where do you come from in any conversation—interest or opposition? 

Can you be opposed yet still curious? Notice when you feel contrary, and instead of resisting, choose to listen. Isn’t that what you want from others? To listen with genuine interest, saying, “I’m here, present, and considering what you have to say. Let’s talk, and let’s discover together.”
