You can change a disturbing memory where you've transgressed a personal value by creating a new, encouraging one. If a past event haunts you because you repeatedly think about how you could have acted differently, consider how to make amends. This can transform the memory into a powerful lesson and a meaningful experience.

There are risks in reaching out to make amends: rejection, indifference, or uncomfortable truths. Only you can decide if it's a risk worth taking. Remember, there's no risk in forgiving yourself.
