OK … OK, I know it’s also a state of your pocket book, but, and I’m using the BIG BUT here, it starts with a state of mind that says:
I am effective
I am resourceful
I am open to receive
I know people who are abundant in their financial resources and poor in their relationships. I also know some who are rich in their relationships and poor in confidence, and others who are rich in confidence and poor in results.
Abundance covers the spectrum of your consciousness. When abundance is activated, these states of mind: effectiveness, resourcefulness, and openness to receive, reveal whatever areas need to be addressed in your life now.
At the beginning of this year, my daughter reminded me of this abundance principle by writing on her white board above her desk, that she was open to more income in 2010. What a great message both to her subconscious and to the universe that she was open to receive. Immediately I responded to the creative impulse to get out my book of new goals for 2010 and write those very words at the top of a page: I AM OPEN TO RECEIVE, and then made a list of what I was open to. A terrific idea turned into a process that greets me in the morning when I’m reading my goals. Here’s my list so far:
New and recurring clients retaining me to transform their lives and businesses
Losing the last 10 pounds
Writing a new book
Helping an emerging company raise 1.5mil
From time to time I add something new to the list, as I get clear on what it is. This week I added abundance.
Does it work? Yes. My daughter was presented with a job offer out of the blue or, perhaps I should say, out of her focus on what she wanted to receive, and being open to receive it.
The power of an abundant state of mind is more then just declaring what you want. For example, I was recently working with a client who wanted a new relationship. As we continued the inquiry, what got revealed, was that he wasn’t really open to receive it. What became clear was his self-limiting story about why relationships don’t work. To be open to receive a new relationship, it’s required that you be OPEN for it to be different from how it was in the past, including how you think about it now.
Two weeks ago when I wrote about “upgrading your thought factory”, I realized my thought factory catalog didn’t include abundance. So I added it. I realized when I looked at my catalog, abundance would be a great addition. Why? Because abundance brings prosperity in spirit, thought, relationships, and financial rewards.
So where can you bring more abundance into your life? When you’re open to receive, something new can come in like:
A burst of creativity
An insight
Peace of mind
New strategies
Help
Jobs
And a deep sense of well-being
This week, practice an abundant state of mind. Bring it forward whenever you feel constrained. Instead of thinking you don’t have enough, know that you are effective and resourceful, and be open to receive.
Let me hear how this works for you and what comes into your life as a result.
My love goes with you as you work with this uplifting moment.
